Founded by the late Al Mar, whose philosophy focused on the belief that production knives can be high quality and perform as well as custom made knives, each Al Mar series is well thought out and designed to be a classic, for use by generations to come. Now headed by Gary Fadden, an ex-Green Beret, Al Mar Knives continues its tradition of making some of the finest and most durable knives available.
Al Mar Knives keeps pace with the industry's newest materials and designs by continually refining and perfecting each series of knives. The Ultralight Series continues to be one of the lightest and most comfortably mobile folding knives available and now features a higher grade steel that cuts longer and is easier to sharpen. A classic Al Mar design re-introduced, the new S.E.R.E. series 4C has been completely redesigned to take advantage of the newest technology in design, precision machining and materials and is one of the toughest folding knives available anywhere.
Heinr. Böker Baumwerk Gmbh founded in 1869, has been producing the very popular Böker Tree Brand knives for over a century. The name "Böker Arbolito Tree Brand" has got nothing in common with the agricultural or forestry industries, contrary to what the name would seem to suggest.
Böker produces high quality cutlery ranging from durable folding and fixed blade knives for the demanding tasks of daily use, to beautiful limited edition models for the rising number of collectors.
California Knives
Founders, Tony Kaplan and Jimmy Wener, started The Course Made Good (CMG) Equipment in early 1998 when they noticed a lack of innovation in flashlight technology. With knowledge about new lighting technologies gained from their previous job, Jimmy and Tony took a couple of product ideas along with guidance from numerous outdoor veterans and seized a major opportunity with a new type of lighting, Light Emitting Diodes (L.E.D.s).
After attending a seminar on LED's in 1997, and learning of their application for commercial street lights, CMG realized a different application and beneficiary for these super efficient LED's - the outdoor enthusiast. Recognizing that backpackers plow through a lot of batteries in their flashlights, CMG saw the Infinity Light and BonFire Tent Light as an answer to 90% of the backpacker's lighting needs. Running off of a single AA battery, and powered by CMG's patented single AA circuit booster, the Infinity has the efficiency, brightness, durability, and functionality unmatched by any light of its size. Next came the BonFire Tent Light. CMG designed the BonFire with every camper's dilemma at heart - how do you efficiently and safely illuminate your tent? A candle lantern is a fire hazard in your tent; battery operated incandescent flashlights are very inefficient and require you to carry extra batteries and bulbs for any extended trip. CMG answered the problem by designing the BonFire, the safest, brightest, and most efficient tent light available.

Darrel Ralph Designs is a family owned and operated business. Embodying that philosophy, my step-son Ryan Bailey, works in my shop under my direction making sheaths, running machinery, sawing out knife parts, assisting with some assemblies, and performing other routine chores. Ryan also runs our contract manufacturing section of the business. We make some parts for knifekits.com here and other items not related to the knife industry. I employ a knife maker apprentice also. Even my 9-year old son, Ian, has been known to heft a broom around the shop. With all of the above disclosed in writting, one thing that you can be sure of. Misc
Paragon has produced knives for several years and are favorites with many people. Several models are available. Their knives are well built. They use ATS-34 for blades and T-6 for the frames. Good spring action, and they have a lifetime warranty. Paragon has collaborated with different makers to design knives for them. They are also building knives for different private labels; the new trend is toward exclusives in the cutlery world.
The Paragon Cutlery Company, which manufactures a wide range knives - from fixed blade survival knives, and hunting knives, tactical knives, and automatics, has been increasing the size of their line and production by leaps and bounds. This is particularly true for their line of automatic knives. Indeed, they just might be the largest commercial manufacturer of automatic knives in the United States. If they aren't, then they have the most models of auto knives in their catalog.
